In Feb 2018, Amita has published her first book of poetry “Lavender Memories and Other Poems”.

These poems are about finding peace in Nature and healing and regaining strength from Nature.

Here is  sample of published poems. She is currently  working on 3 more books.

Poem 1

LAVENDER MEMORIES- I.

Velvet violet mounts

Lavendered, darkened

Stand so silent,

Silhouetted.

I stare spellbound

At the pale gold filtering,

Through grey- blue skies.

A few rays visit

The blessed Land,

Reflecting serenity

 Ah my heart,

 Lifts, quietly lit!

Poem 2

LAVENDER MEMORIES-II.

That brown line

 Between truth

 And its reflection.

Like fainting memories

Mirrored, so still,

So still the Lavenders

In my heart.

Frowns drown.

A slight smile

Takes a while

To travel,

The miles between

 Detachment and affection.

Poem 3

Stripey Strides -I

The moment

    Pre-movement

That split

    Of a second

Feet lifted

    Off ground

 Yet undecided

    Where to go

 Direction unfathomed

Speck of uncertainty,

 Speck of fear,

 Speck of indecision,

 Speck of lively frenzy,

The stripe-adorned

 Speck of life,

From the painter’s eyes

A matter of stride.

 Such a pride!
