Ariadne’s Notes: the World Poetry Café Radio Show  with hosts Ariadne Sawyer and Anita Aguirre Nieveras plus operator Victor Schwartzman welcomed Sharon Rowe on November 19 at 1:40 pm. Victor did a memorable reading of the story Big Bessie Celebrates! To hear this special show: CLICK HERE:

Sharon Rowe is a specially abled person whose story is one of triumphs over many disabilities; she has an indomitable spirit and despite challenges does not see herself as challenged. She has received a number of awards for her volunteer work and was chosen as a person of Distinction to carry the medallion for Rick Hanson’s  25 Anniversary Tour across Canada .

Thanks to a special team of volunteers, Heidi Muller, Kwame Yirenkyi and many others, her book is now available on Amazon.http://www.amazon.com/Big-Bessie-Stories-Sharon-Rowe/dp/1926457005/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1416163528&sr=1-2&keywords=big+Bessie

Her next goal is to create a workshop called Finding Your Creative Voice for especially abled people, families, friends and volunteers. For more information: ariadnes@uniserve.com

Also, in the works, is to make an animated series and to suggest to Lego create a series of blocks depicting specially abled.

Sharon says: “Believe in yourself and never, never give up!.”

Sharon Rowe and World Poetry Publishing brings you a first book for challenged youth and adults, the amazing Big Bessie Stories! Dictated by the award winning “specially-abled” Sharon Rowe and featuring the HandyDART Heroine Big Bessie, a talking, flying mini bus that never takes no for an answer, this book is full of humor, taking the reader through a series of wondrous adventures. The stories fulfill a long term dream by the author. Illustrator Kwame Yirenkyi brings Big Bessie and her friends such as Baby Nicki and Sir Thomas Rigg Kimball her cat, to life on the pages. There is some excitement about a possible animated series! The stories have been read aloud in community centers, libraries and classes with great success, to children, youth and adults. They have inspired many “challenged” people to find their creative voice. Sharon wants you to know that you have creativity in you just waiting to come out. http://www.amazon.com/Big-Bessie-Stories-Sharon-Rowe/dp/1926457005/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1416163528&sr=1-2&keywords=big+Bessie
