 A Must See Film!

The Archive and The Orchard are happy to present the theatrical release of Taika Waititi’s HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE in Vancouver, opening exclusively at the International Village, 88 West Pender Street. (http://www.cineplex.com/Theatre/Cineplex-Odeon-International-Village-Cinemas) on Friday the 8th in Vancouver and then in additional theatres across Canada.

HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE is a fascinating adventure film based on the classic book Wild Pork and Watercress by Barry Clump, a New Zealand bushman. Directed and produced by the talented Oscar nominated Taika Waititi. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and has set box office records.

Set in New Zealand, the larger than life characters cover the hardship of foster care, escape to the bush, a manhunt and a magnificent, natural background to make an entertaining film.

The actors, especially Julian Dennison who played Ricky Baker and Sam Neill  (Hec) are outstanding.

Genius, creativity, talent and haiku add their magic to the film.

HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE resonates on so many levels and weaves in humor, belief, change and hope into a comedy with serious overtones.

The final word by Taika Waititi: “It’s these two outsider characters, Hec and Ricky, who will be our guides in this world. There’s a great difference between these characters: Old meets new, age meets youth, bush meets city, European meets Māori and wisdom meets instinct.  At the end of the film, we’ll have gone on a journey of mutual respect, dedication, and understanding.”
