Award Winner, Richard.

Ariadne’s Notes:Great show! June 20, 1-2 pm PST!Sorry to be so late in featuring. Had some difficulties with my new computer but hope soon to be on track and catch up.

The World Poetry Café welcomed the talented Richard Doiron and Jody Bernados on CFRO 100.5 FM . It was wonderful to hear Richard talking about his peace poem included with other great writers and thinkers and Jody speaking to the world in Tagalog.

Unfortunately the songs had too much distortion so we hope to have them back in the future. However, he kindly sent some clips so you can click  on the links below for this great duo !

Look To Better Days

Look to better days. Look to better ways.
Look to things you never knew.
Take the time to feel. Take the time to heal.
Take the time it takes for you.

Take the higher road. Lug the lighter load.
Take a break and rest awhile.
Put on casual clothes. Stop and smell the rose.
Play it loose and learn to smile.

Be a child again. Never mind you win.
You but need to play a part.
Count the stars above. Get it on with love.
Get it on with all your heart.

Look to better days. Look to better ways.
Look to things you never knew.
Take the time to feel. Take the time to heal.
Take the time it takes for you.

 Song smith Joey Bernados.

At age 21, Joey made his way to Saudi Arabia, where he worked for a spell. Needing a distraction from very hardships, he taught himself to play the guitar, his quickly emerging skills a surprise to friends and family alike. His older brother was the first in his family to migrate to the US. His mother followed, as did Joey, who now lives in Fairfield, California, where he works as a janitor with one of the largest health care companies in the world. He also has a second job, working as a massage therapist. He is married; he and his wife, Lea have three children: Raymond, Johnlee, and Leanna.

Links to the wonderful songs coming soon.

Lyrics for the first song here, dedicated to the World Poetry Radio Show!

Wavelengths

(By The Score)

1

Our world is filled with wonder

Our world is filled with woe

Another clap of thunder

That strikes a mighty blow

The children of the future

Need guidance all the while

They need the best of booster

Upon this mighty mile

(We reach across the world

On wave lengths by the score

And pray to God above

With every ounce of love

To reach out even more)

2

Our world is filled with anger

Our world is filled with pain

We offer up an anchor

To make things right again

The station that you’re hearing

Across the world so wide

Is one we’re engineering

So peace should then abide
