Cradle

Strident icy wind
From the darkened sides
Down the vigorous cells
Along the ancient arteries
Down the Knee of the Foretelling
They hit ominously, subversively
They were hitting, hitting, hitting.

She, meek and sunny
With heavy robe
And a silence that talks
Turned into
A shriek of black swans
Along the sky left wisely
As a constellation for her
To witness.
