Ariadne’s Notes:  The World Poetry Café, March 28, 1-2 PM, PST  welcomed three wonderful guests Bernice Lever, acclaimed poet, Bowen Island, Jill Carter,  Toronto, film and TV director and Christopher Jentsch, composer, Brooklyn , N.Y. I will be giving each of them a feature web spot.  Also, a birthday message to Mamta Agarwal and one of her poems from  Also a Afghan poem for my honorary son Rahmat Haidari  from my new book, Love  Poems to the World, Dream Offerings. Bernice Lever, a great grandmother, is a Life Member of the Canadian League of Poets. She has 10 poetry books in print and a college text book.

Living on Bowen Island, near Vancouver, BC, she readings internationally. Yet Peace Poet finds time to give talks and readings to inspire others. )

BERNICE LEVER, a writer, editor and teacher, creates poetry on Bowen Island. Her 10th book of poems was “Small Acts”, Black Moss Press, 2016. She edited WAVES, Fine Canadian Literature, at York, U., Toronto, 1972-1987. She is a Life member of League Canadian Poets & some other groups.
Bernice’s travels have let her read poems on 5 continents. Her grammar & composition book (now a CD or free PDF) is “The Colour of Words” . 
This book has been used around the world to help students with their English.
Although she is active in many national writing organizations in Canada, she is now delighted to be on the west coast again, writing PEACE poems for World Poetry and others.

Ariadne’s Notes: On October , 8 2018, an exciting guest called into the World Poetry Café Radio Show at 1:10 PM PST. Ayn Inserto shared with us her new CD Down A Rabbit Hole available from Summit Records; a musical adventure with songs that took us on a journey into an imaginary world of sounds. Hosts  Dr. Diego Bastinutti , Ariadne Sawyer , super tech Victor Schwartzman, special volunteer Sharon Rowe and regular correspondent Jeanne Probst completed the World Poetry Team. We would like to thank Braitwaite and Katz for sending this great composer and musician.

Ayn Inserto is a groundbreaking composer who is emerging as one of the preeminent voices of her generation. She received her Masters of Music degree in Jazz Composition from the New England Conservatory in May 2001. She is a winner of the 2007 IAJE/ASCAP Emerging Composer Commission honoring Frank Foster, the 2003/04 and 2005/06 ASCAP Young Jazz Composers’ Awards and has received various honors which include the Concord Pavilion Associates Marian McPartland Award, the Pacific Coast Jazz Festival Most Outstanding small jazz ensemble, and the 1999 Best Original Composition award at the Billy Higgins Jazz Festival. World Poetry Celebrates International Women’s Day!

 

World Poetry celebrated International Women’s Day  with Empowered Women and Unsung Heroes!  Despite some tech difficulties, a great time was had by all.

We send our respect, love and caring to all the women of the world and a tribute to all the men who are unsung heroes, supporting and caring for the women of the world.
