There was a rose in my garden that survived the early cold of Winter and I thought of woman in her wintertime.
MY LAST ROSE OF WINTER
Come,
Here’s my hand,
My last rose of Winter.
So frail . . .
Who gave you that magic
to outlive the Lilacs and
Cherry Blossoms,
the Bluebells and Jasmine?
You outwitted,
the sadists of the seasons.
Queen of Bloom,
You are soft, yet steadfast
amidst the torments
of frost, rain, and snow,
merciless demons
of Winter and Fall,
You are –
My last Rose of Winter.
Come,
I am your Sun,
Let me wrap you tight
in the cloak of my wings,
a cocoon in the womb of the
chrysalis of Apollo’s arms.
Smile,
Let my warm lips
kiss your pale glow,
intensely for a while
before you’re gone . . .
My last Rose of Winter.

MY LAST ROSE OF WINTER
I liked this poem very much. It is very beautiful expression of the greatest love that someone can, without any interest. give to someone else. The language is kind and sublime. The message flows along the lines with a very nice and lively rhythm.

We loved your poems especially ‘My Last Rose of Winter’ though it was a bit melancholy and your voice was really cool and pleasant on the radio. Please give us a copy of your poems.
