Ariadne’s note: We are honoured to present Elizabeth as our featured poet. She has waited a long time to be featured, due to The World Poetry Canada International Peace festival and my computer meltdown. Welcome to another talented poet from the Philippines!

Elizabeth E. Castillo is a professional feature writer/journalist/blogger/international poet/online English Instructor from the Philippines in Asia.  She has exhibited her writing and poetic inclinations early on during her elementary days when she was once this shy, unassuming lass.  She didn’t give up on her dreams of becoming a writer since she believes in her heart that her mission here on Earth is to contribute and touch lives through pen pushing. Her articles and poems have appeared in international online magazines. She was featured in more than 25 international poetry anthologies both in the USA and UK and currently working on upcoming anthologies.  She is also currently a Contributing Editor for Inner Child the Magazine, USA and a Columnist for Winning Strategies Magazine, Mexico City. One World, One Voice

Not just a speck of dust in a swirling, gathering mass
The earth is where life abounds
God has created to be enjoyed by mankind.
You and me although not bonded by the same blood,
Black or white, yellow or brown
One world, one voice
To stand up and be at peace together is our only choice.
Who likes terrorism and all those selfish schemes?
No one deserves to die innocently
Out of brutal killings and vicious plots done mercilessly
One world, one voice,
Stop these envious mockeries
And help one another than be divided incessantly.
All those lives lost in the horrifying 911 attack
Their souls will forever be remembered
The reasons behind the evil acts forever be pondered.
Lay to eternal rest our brethren
Who have suffered sudden, tragic deaths,
We pray none of those similar occurrence
Befall again anywhere
